Impressive and Creative DIY Roller Blinds

What are roller blinds?
Well, a roller blind is rectangular in cross-section and attached to a wooden or metallic dowel or tube, and then it is placed between two brackets. Then a spring pulley system or chain system mechanism rolls the fabric up or down. Although there are plenty of suitable automated roller blinds available, but they may add to unnecessary complications. This is especially true in case of young kids living along who may mishandle them and cause harm, and it has been noted that these unwanted things are lately happening.

Roller Blinds are available for purposes like the following
Roller Blind filters:
  • These Roller blinds are used above the television, monitor or laptop LCD sets; they help to avoid the glare by filtering the light.
Roller Blind Sunshade:
  • Roller Blind Sunshades are fixed in cars and vehicles with windshields at the top.
  • These are useful to avoid sun rays completely or partially for fellow passengers by sliding the blinds up or down to  a suitable position
  • These are really helpful when the vehicle is parked in the area where sunlight and heat is more during the summer seasons.
  • They can also be helpful to create some privacy within the car whenever required.

    • Make sure that adhesives are working well with the fabric and rollout combination before setting up.
    • Glue them together and press them from both sides to make them stick together.
    • Decorate the bottom portion with the colorful ribbon, paper trims or lace.
    • Use wooden or plastic boards to conceal the fabrics rolling path to add extra grandeur to them.
    • It is a good thought to use sticky tape to test the movement of rollers and ensure that they roll up and down smoothly.
    • Attach the brackets to the wall using the screw and screwdrivers in to the pre-holed wall.

Why DIY Roller Blinds are better than Venetian Blinds?
There are two obvious reasons:
  1. Roller Blinds can blend into the architecture and can be concealed the background either through camouflaging or concealing them within the walls.
  2. Roller Blinds can be easily cleaned or washed as opposed to Venetian blinds that are prone to more dust settlement and cleaning each leaves of the blinds is a tedious task at hand.
